# Final Updates & Fixes

## 🐛 Bugs Fixed

### 1. **Card Click Detection**
- **Problem**: Left-clicking on cards wasn't working reliably
- **Fix**: 
  - Changed raycaster to use `cardMeshes` array directly instead of `scene.children`
  - Improved parent traversal to find the card group even when clicking on nested mesh objects
  - Set `raycaster.far = 1000` to enable clicking on distant cards
  - Now you can click on any card from any distance to zoom to it

### 2. **Contributor Panel Data Display**
- **Problem**: Floating card not always showing all contributors or correct leads to pages
- **Fix**: The data is now properly displayed through reactive Svelte bindings
- The overlay panel updates correctly when navigating between cards

### 3. **Contributor Panel in List View**
- **Problem**: Panel remained visible when switching to list view
- **Fix**: Added condition `{#if selectedCard && viewMode === '3d'}` to only show overlay in 3D mode

## ✨ New Features

### 1. **TIME Label**
- Added "TIME" text label above the timeline axis
- Positioned at the left side, same style as "PURE MATH" and "APPLIED MATH" labels
- Helps users understand the timeline dimension

### 2. **Back Button in Overlay Panel**
- Added "← Back" button in the top-left of the card overlay panel
- Only appears when there's a previous card to go back to
- Smooth hover animation (slides left)
- Makes navigation more intuitive

### 3. **Close Button for Search Panel**
- Added "✕" close button in top-right corner of search panel
- Clicking it closes the search (same as clicking magnifying glass)
- Better UX - users don't have to hunt for how to close it

## 🚀 Deployment Setup

### GitHub Pages Configuration
- Updated `svelte.config.js` to output to `docs` folder
- Configured base path for GitHub Pages: `/math-map`
- Added `.nojekyll` file to prevent Jekyll processing
- Built production-ready static site

### Build Commands

NODE_ENV=production npm run build
```

### Deployment Files
- All static files in `docs` folder
- Ready to deploy via GitHub Pages
- Set repository settings to deploy from `main` branch, `/docs` folder

### Known Limitations
- Large bundle size (552 KB for main chunk) due to Three.js
  - Could be optimized with code splitting if needed
  - Not critical for GitHub Pages deployment

## 📝 Next Steps for Deployment

1. Push all files to GitHub:
   ```bash
   git add .
   git commit -m "Final build for GitHub Pages"
   git push origin main
   ```

2. Enable GitHub Pages in repository settings:
   - Settings → Pages
   - Source: Deploy from branch
   - Branch: main, Folder: /docs
   - Save

3. Access at: `https://[username].github.io/math-map/`
